How do I export documents from DocuWare?
Sign up for dwXport, connect your DocuWare instance using the guided wizard, select your file cabinet and documents, configure your export settings (folder structure, filenames), and start the export. Documents are transferred to your chosen cloud storage with real-time progress tracking.
Can I migrate DocuWare documents to S3 or AWS?
Yes. dwXport supports direct export to Amazon S3 and any S3-compatible storage provider (including MinIO, DigitalOcean Spaces, and Backblaze B2). You configure your bucket, region, and credentials in the setup wizard. Support for Azure Blob Storage and SFTP/FTP is coming soon.
How much does a DocuWare export cost?
The Pay Per Export plan starts at CHF 5.00 per request plus CHF 0.005 per document. For example, exporting 10,000 documents costs CHF 55.00. The Unlimited plan at CHF 750.00 gives you 7 days of unlimited exports. One request is required per file cabinet.
Is dwXport secure?
Yes. DocuWare credentials are used only during the export session. Documents are transferred directly to your own cloud storage — dwXport never stores your documents. The application uses HTTPS encryption and passwordless authentication via secure magic links. The database is encrypted and all data is deleted within 48 hours after the export. There are no backups or recovery options.
Do I need to install any software?
No. dwXport is a web application that runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to install, no software to maintain, and no servers to manage.
What file formats does dwXport support?
dwXport exports documents in their original format as stored in DocuWare. In addition, all metadata and index fields are exported alongside your documents, so you retain the complete filing information.
How long does a DocuWare export take?
Export speed depends on the number of documents, file sizes, and your network connection. To avoid overloading your DocuWare system, rate limits are applied. Accounting for these limits, we estimate between 0.7 and 1.2 seconds per document. dwXport provides real-time progress tracking so you can monitor the entire process as it runs.
